




The Spanish men’s and women’s national basketball teams are consistently ranked among the top five in the FIBA world rankings. The men’s team last won the European Championship in 2015. At the 2006 FIBA World Championship, the Spanish men’s team achieved its greatest success in history by winning the gold medal game against Greece. Current NBA stars such as Pau Gasol, Jorge Garbajosa, Rudy Fernández, Serge Ibaka, and Ricky Rubio have all represented their home country of Spain in international competitions.
