Simply put, there is no place like the Netherlands. However, continuing a tour without spending some time here would be a big mistake. The small and welcoming country of Holland is famous for its tulips, windmills, and renowned painters such as Rembrandt and Van Gogh.

The Dutch national basketball team represents the Netherlands in international competitions and is governed by the Netherlands Basketball Federation. The team has reached the final four once and advanced to the playoffs on several occasions. Dutch players Rik Smits, Francisco Elson, and Dan Gadzuric have all competed in the NBA.

Amsterdam offers something for everyone: the Van Gogh Museum, the Rembrandt Museum, distinctive merchant-house architecture, the Anne Frank House, historic canals crossed by 1,000 bridges, as well as an abundance of flowers and diamonds. The city is easily walkable, and you’ll be hard-pressed to find friendlier or prouder people anywhere in the world. North of Amsterdam, Volendam and Zaanse Schans provide a glimpse into the Holland of centuries past, complete with windmills and traditional wooden shoes. To the south lies Leiden, dating back to Roman times, and Delft, where 300 artists continue to hand-paint porcelain in the traditional style.
